Music Dissected

My music’s been dissected

Even by myself

It’s been shut away in sections

Denying me my health

It’s been stored in little boxes

On the dusty shelf

My music’s been deflowered

Denying me my health

I try to be strong for my families and friends

But I’ll never ever feel like I used to again

My music’s been forgotten

Even by myself

It’s been blown away by speakers

Exploding on the shelf

It’s been pushed aside by TV

And laziness as well

My music was forgotten

Even by myself

I try to stay strong for my families and friends

But I’ll never ever feel myself again

I try to be strong for my families and friends

But I’ll never be quite strong enough again

I try to stay strong for my families and friends

But I’ll never feel like my old self again

A new life before me the past has been spent

I’d love to go back but I never can again

My music has been atrophied

Even by myself

It’s been slung aside to the wasteland

Denying me my health

It’s been taken to the doctors arrested raising hell

My music has been atrophied

Even to myself

It’s an expensive lifetime we’re all living in

And I can’t afford to go back though I’d love to again
